Wind Chase Inn

The staff were friendly. The man from India was a nice gentleman to talk to, and the morning lady was friendly and brought me fresh coffee. I stopped overnight on the way from South Florida to Dallas. For about $70, the basic room was clean and did the job. The satellite TV had lots of channels, and both the AC and heater worked perfectly. The microwave worked well, too, and shampoo and soap were provided. The furniture is old, but that’s expected for the price. It was quiet outside during my visit over Thanksgiving week in November 2025. The water took a few minutes to warm up, and the pressure and temperature could be better, maybe because the water heater is old. Also, the fridge sat on a foam base that made its door hard to open and close. I’m not sure what the base is for, but they should get rid of it.

The rooms were clean, and they’re being upgraded. We found the place by accident this trip, and next time we head down south, we’ll seek it out and stay again. It’s right beside a Waffle House, where the food was great and the young staff were friendly and attentive. Go there!

The front desk people were really nice, and the woman there called the owners to ask if I could get a partial refund. They offered a different room but no refund, so we chose to leave. I checked out a day early because the room was gross and we didn’t feel comfortable there. When I went to shower after checking in last night, there was a bug in the towel. The tub was stained and didn’t look clean, the sheets weren’t clean either, and I had to clean them off because I was exhausted. There were stains on the comforter, and later a bug crawled on me while I was lying in bed. The weather stripping was missing from the door, so I’m pretty sure that’s how the bugs were getting in. The whole place felt sketchy. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The location was handy, the staff were kind, and some long-term tenants struck up lovely conversations, which gave the place a good atmosphere. The room was okay, but it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite the property being listed as smoke-free. The bathroom, though, had been newly renovated and was clean and very nice.
