Motel 6 Lufkin, TX

I stayed one night, checked out on time, and left nothing behind, but management charged my card for a second night I neither stayed nor approved. The room was empty and ready to be cleaned and resold. When I contacted the manager, they wouldn’t refund the charge for a night I hadn’t occupied. That’s charging for a service I didn’t receive. I have a timestamped record of when I left and plan to escalate this to Motel 6 Guest Relations and file a formal dispute for an unauthorized transaction. Management, I’m willing to update or remove this review once the “phantom charge” is corrected. I only want to pay for the night I actually stayed.

Mrs, Jamie was kind and accommodating and made sure we were comfortable. We’ll come back whenever we need a hotel.

We had planned to stay 2 nights, but left after one. A couple in a nearby room were fighting for much of the night, then around 6 a.m. a man in the motel let out a long, loud scream. There was also vulgar profanity written on the mirrors in permanent marker. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms and grounds were really clean, and the grassy courtyard has a trash can and pet bags, which is great for dogs. We stay at Motel 6 because we travel with ours. I’d definitely recommend the place, apart from the trouble we had getting a downstairs room. I recently had my ankle fused. I don’t need a handicap room, but stairs are very difficult for me, so my husband explained on the phone a week before our stay that we needed a downstairs room. The man said he couldn’t reserve one. When we arrived and asked again, the desk clerk had to call the owner to see if it was possible. It’s clear that I have trouble walking, and my car has handicap plates. They could have given us a downstairs room when we called. Otherwise I may start booking a handicap room I don’t really need, and somebody else might need it.
