Cypress Inn

For a trip toward New Orleans, Cypress Inn of Luling is a good option if you'd rather stay away from the city's hustle and bustle. The French Quarter is 30 minutes away.

The outside looked good, but there was no breakfast. Inside, the mirror was worn, the sink was cracked, and the computer chair was broken. The pillows were too small and disrupted my sleep on several days. The room had a quiet AC, microwave, and fridge. The owner said housekeeping would come every other day, but during my 12-day stay I remember only one proper service. The next visit was partial, and even after I complained three times, housekeeping never did a full job. For a similar price, I'd choose a nearby place such as Motel 6, which offers better amenities and service.

Really clean hotel, and the staff were so nice and caring. Everything was very nice.

Our first night, we turned on the lights and saw more than 20 roaches crawling around. The room looked and smelled disgusting. They moved us to new rooms and said they'd clean the first ones, but the new rooms were just as bad. When we checked the original rooms again after they said they'd cleaned them, nothing had changed. Service was poor, and the rooms weren't cleaned. There was trash in my bin and food left in the microwave. The TV didn't work, and they wouldn't fix it. The tub had hair all over it, and the toilet hadn't even been flushed. The bathroom was disgusting. It feels like they just don't care. I wouldn't spend money here, and would choose another hotel.
