SpringHill Suites Lumberton

Cleanliness makes up about 90% of how I judge a hotel, and this one did really well. Everything from the lobby to our room was very clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was included, the usual eggs, cereal, bagels, and waffles, and we'd stay here again for the cleanliness alone. A few things were less comfortable. The beds were fine, but not especially comfortable, and the pillows weren't firm enough for us. The AC was very loud. Also, if some people are getting ready while others sleep, the room layout makes it hard to use lights without brightening the sleeping area. The frosted glass bathroom door lets light through, so turning on the bathroom light woke everyone. A few bulbs were out, and the fridge wouldn't stay on. Those felt minor to us, though they might matter more to someone else.

The best part of our stay happened after checkout: I left my $500 Garmin watch on the charger in the room. Cleaner Josefina found it and turned it in to the front desk, then Chris called us. When we returned, Chris carefully checked that it was really mine so nobody else could claim it. The staff were friendly, honest, and great with the kids. We had a good stay for a good price, and we'll come back if we're in the area.

We came to see family history in Whiteville and visit the USS North Carolina. This was a great find, with a good location, newly renovated large rooms, and a big, very clean bathroom. Breakfast was a nice hot spread with eggs, sausage, waffles, and more. The build your own pizza place across the parking lot was good and reasonably priced. The main snag was the beautiful big frosted glass barn door on the bathroom. There were no dim lights in there, so when my husband used it at night, the bright light woke me up. Luckily we brought a night light, and the front desk offered one too. The bed was pretty soft, but we were only there a couple of nights. I'd definitely stay again.

The rooms were spacious and clean, the showers were big, and everything worked. The price was great, the air conditioning got perfectly cold, and the linens were really nice. Zac at the front desk was also so helpful and professional when I checked out this morning. I loved the stay, thank you.
