We got in at 11:15pm on Saturday night of Mother’s Day 2026, completely worn out, and the young woman at the desk was still cheerful and so helpful. The room and pool were very clean, and breakfast was great. I was surprised to see the same employee working in the morning, smiling as if she’d just had a full night’s rest instead of doing a double shift. Her attitude made the stay nice even if the place had been a bit crummy.

We had a big family gathering and the dining room they let us use was nice for the most part. But the front desk never mentioned that people without rooms would be charged $10 a person to use the pool and hot tub. When we got in, the jets didn’t work. Later, when we wanted to spend time together in the dining room, they closed the doors, even though nobody else was on the main floor. I wasn’t impressed with the new owner-manager’s changes, especially since there hadn’t even been a notice about them.

We stopped for one night on the way to Keystone, SD. It’s easy to find, with a Subway right across the street and a few other places nearby. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of parking. I’ve got nothing bad to say. Not sure why anyone would take off 2 stars just because they were out of coffee. LOL

I was asleep with a “Do not disturb” sign on the door, but the cleaning woman still knocked several times. When I went out to ask what she wanted, she just stood there giggling. I pointed to the sign and she only smiled. The hotel has lots of reviews saying staff don’t respect guests’ privacy. Is it really that hard to pay attention? There’s also a strong urine smell near the hotel, and lots of strange people around. The whole place felt unsafe, and I wanted to pack up and leave.
