I liked the cozy, historic feel, the patio and bar, the little library, and the Columbia Gorge views. It’s on Seventh Street just off Hwy 14, near the Lyle Market, so it worked well as a stop after exploring the Gorge. The place has ten rooms, and I booked a queen room with a shared bathroom and breakfast. Breakfast had instant oatmeal, granola, yogurt, English muffins, orange juice, and Keurig coffee. Sleeping was tough because trains pass in front overnight, and I was disappointed by the service. For self check-in, they’re supposed to send the door code on arrival day, but I had to call from Lyle before they sent it.

Having all ten rooms to ourselves made this a great group rental, with plenty of lovely spaces for the family to spend time together. The renovated rooms were comfortable and well equipped, and the place itself is gorgeous and feels special. The manager was easy to work with and quick to respond. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

The backyard patio was open, and with music in the evening it made for a lovely night. We tried the homemade smoked olives, crab cakes, and bread with garlic olive oil, and the food was really high quality. There were nice choices of cider, beer, and wine too. Great place, and I'd happily come back. Many thanks.

The hosts take such good care of guests that it starts to feel like a B&B, and you may end up becoming friends. The food is top shelf, so there was no need for us to leave during our stay. The Inn's history comes through in the furnishings, and the owners have brought that character to life. The bar and dining rooms keep their original look, while the private courtyard has an amazing, really cool vibe. Highly recommended!

We found the room clean and comfortable, and the staff were wonderful, helpful, and polite. We only had wine since we had dinner plans, but the dishes we saw other people order looked fantastic. We’ll go back. It’s perfectly placed for visiting wineries and making a weekend of it.
