Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Macedon

We had a great location for our trip to Rochester, and the hotel was wonderful. Staff were kind and helpful, and our room was clean and stocked. They also made room for us and our three dogs at a very reasonable price. We’d happily stay again next time we travel to Rochester. Highly recommend this place!

The stay was very unpleasant, and I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere. The room smelled awful, both rooms were dirty, and the carpets in the rooms and corridor smelled as if they had never been cleaned. There were large flies, possibly coming through unsealed windows. The shower in the first room flooded the bathroom, and we only got moved after asking several times. The TV did not work at first, and they provided a Chromecast only after I asked. There was no working room phone, so I had to go down to reception for every request. They still had not fixed it after three days, and housekeeping or room service only happened when I repeatedly went to ask. Breakfast had no milk for two days. Some staff and guests were racist, which made us very uncomfortable.

For the price, the hotel was perfectly fine, and the location worked well for our birthday weekend. There were fast food places and a Walmart nearby, with more to do about 20 minutes away in Rochester. Our room was clean and the staff were nice. The main problem was the heat and noise. As a light sleeper, I could hear doors shutting and even the ice machine down the hall. The air felt great while it was running, but it shut off too soon. Even on high at the lowest setting, the room quickly became warm and stuffy again.

The beds were comfortable, and the gym had what we needed. We stayed for five days but were put in a smaller room. Nothing fancy, though it had almost everything you need. Breakfast was decent, but eggs would have made it nicer.
