We stayed in a lake view room from 9-13-2025 through 9-16-2025. From the fourth floor we had a great view, and the room was nice and large. It's an old hotel, but there was an elevator. The staff were great, and the location put us right among the island's activity, within easy walking distance of the arch, Ft. Mackinaw and other attractions. At the Pink Pony, the Lions game on the big bar screen had the crowd roaring the team on to victory. We really enjoyed our stay at the Chippewa.

Chippewa has long been one of our favorite island hotels for its location, views and comfortable rooms. We've been coming here for years. Lately, though, the staff and management seem less focused on guests and more focused on money, both at the hotel and the onsite restaurant.

Our second-floor room looked out over the waterfront, and the balcony had a great view. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the staff were upbeat, friendly and very helpful. The room charge felt very expensive to me, but for one night it was worth it.

We looked into several hotels before choosing the Chippewa, and we're extremely glad we did. Our harbor view suite gave us a beautiful sunrise each morning. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. We highly recommend the hotel and look forward to staying there again.

The little touches helped make this another wonderful stay. The Chippewa serves guests milk and cookies at night, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We loved the beautiful rooms and water views, especially sitting on the balcony over the water and listening to the singers at the Pink Pony. The Pink Pony restaurant is a fabulous place to eat. Highly recommend staying here.
