Mad River Inn

We spent our evenings in the downstairs game room, and breakfast was fantastic, freshly made to order each morning. The Mad River Inn was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the shower was the best I’ve had in a long time. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back next time we’re in the area.

Susanna and Brandon are thoughtful, attentive hosts who make sure guests have a memorable stay. They know the area well and had great suggestions for things to see and do, plus places to eat. The Inn is clean and welcoming, with beautiful grounds and a basement game room with a pool table. We loved the fresh breakfasts, with savory and sweet options, and the cookies they bake each day for afternoon tea or coffee. Our anniversary getaway couldn’t have gone better. We’re already thinking about spending another anniversary there.

The owners were so friendly and accommodating. They shared recommendations, helped us out, and were happy to hang out and chat like old friends. Breakfast was phenomenal, cooked fresh every morning, and the little touches around the house and rooms were thoughtful. There’s a hot tub, fire pit, and gazebo for relaxing, too. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and super comfortable, with heavenly beds. The Inn has old-time charm, but it’s pristinely clean. Staying here really felt like being with family and friends in a home, not a chain hotel. I can’t recommend it enough!

The hosts were warm, welcoming, and knew the area really well. They made one of the best breakfasts I’ve had, and went out of their way to accommodate my wife’s gluten-free needs. Wonderful people. I’d gladly come back to The Mad River Inn. You won’t be disappointed.
