We liked having two comfortable common areas, including a library with a fireplace and a game room. The small kitchen was useful for a quick breakfast or simple dinner, with a shared fridge, free coffee and tea, a microwave, and a toaster. The beds were especially comfortable, with the thickest comforters! White Horse Lodge was just right for our two days of skiing at Sugarbush, right off the access road to Mt. Ellen. A kind caretaker greeted us when we arrived; after that, guests mostly come and go on their own, so you may only see other guests. Highly recommend.

The rooms are on the small side, and the floors and walls don't do much to block sound or feel especially sturdy. That'd be my one hesitation for anyone bringing rambunctious kids. Still, the room was very clean, and the common areas are what really make the place: a beautiful lounge and library with a big, warm gas fireplace and super-comfy furniture, plus an even larger game room. Both are just far enough from the guest rooms to feel inviting. The honor-system amenities were well stocked, and the place runs smoothly with a light staff. I'd recommend it to most people.

Skiers will appreciate the drying room for boots and wet gear. We were ready to go each morning with warm, dry equipment. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable: we had two spacious, clean king rooms with great beds and practical bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The fireplace room by reception was a cozy, warm spot for apres-ski snacks, and the attached game room was good for hanging out. We stayed three nights over February break in two rooms at the White Horse Inn, and this little gem exceeded our expectations. It's warm, inviting, and so well-appointed. We hesitated a little because of the no-breakfast indicators, but there's a great dining area if you're comfortable bringing your own provisions. Each room has a large mini-fridge, and guests can use the big fridge and freezer in the pantry. There are plenty of tables, and the pantry has plastic cutlery, paper plates, tea, coffee, a microwave, toaster, bottle opener, napkins, sweeteners, and more. We'd highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

The lodge feels homey, and it was fun going with friends and hanging out in the game room after dinner. Our room was comfy, the slopes were close, and the price was great for what we got. The innkeepers were wonderful, and they even baked fresh cookies for us at night. We had a great weekend at the White Horse Lodge.

We didn't expect to be able to make meals and have somewhere to sit and eat, but the amenities made that easy. There's a wet room for ski gear with boot dryers, plus lots of common areas that work well for groups. The room was clean and the bed incredibly comfortable. I even took a work call in the "Library" by the fire. The game room had the Patriots game on, Go PATs! The innkeeper was friendly and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect, and she made homemade cookies for after a cold day of skiing. This was our first visit to the WHL. We'd chosen it based on stays at Mad River and Warren Lodges, both of which were excellent, and what a gem this place turned out to be. It felt like home without feeling like we were intruding. We'll definitely return.
