Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Madison South

The downtown location was good, the lobby felt fresh and clean, and the rooms had been remodeled within the last year. The pool worked fine for my daughter. Breakfast was complimentary and okay, though some pastries had been left out too long and were a little hard. All in all, a good stay for one night.

The quiet, secluded spot away from the highway made for a peaceful stay. I heard no traffic or noise from nearby rooms. Alexa from housekeeping went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. There were a couple of downsides: the blackout curtains didn’t cover the whole windows, letting some light in, and breakfast was underwhelming. Still, I’d recommend the hotel, especially if you want somewhere quiet and comfortable to relax.

Tracy at the front desk was phenomenal, authentic, kind, and personable, real hospitality. We were only here briefly, so didn’t try many amenities. The room did the trick, and there was a nice little breakfast. One odd thing was a switch inside the door that did nothing. The room also had a peculiar lack of lighting.

Willy the bartender really needs better customer service skills. I thought maybe he was just in a mood, but every time I come back, he’s rude. I’d rather have a drink in my hotel room than deal with his crappy personality.
