We work this motel into our trips to Houston when we’re picking up auction items at Ritchie Bros. It’s a clean, modest place at a good price, with friendly staff who are happy to help. It’s also a great option if you’re traveling with pets and need extra parking for a trailer.

My non-smoking room reeked of marijuana, and there were no amenities or breakfast. The rooms were dirty and rundown, and we didn’t even want to shower. We got just two tiny towels and two tiny pillows for each bed. I was shocked this was a Red Roof Inn. The pool has been cemented in. It also felt very unsafe, with makeshift chains and bolts on the doors, and a lot of people living there.

The room was nicely done and beautiful. I woke up to cockroaches, though, and told the front desk when I checked out. He said they’d take care of it. If the bugs go away, I’d stay again.

We froze all night because our room had no heat. It also didn’t have a microwave. When I contacted the office, they checked the numbers on my account to confirm they were mine before giving me a small space heater. Even after we explained that we had food to heat, the owners didn’t seem to care that there was no microwave.
