Budget Inn Madras by OYO

The manager was really nice, and the room turned out to be great value for the price. I was passing through Madras and stayed one night. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and things stayed quiet all night. A pleasant surprise.

We had a pleasant stay overall. The room was clean, the bed soft, and the office attendant was friendly and helpful. Getting through our door was a little awkward, but only a minor hassle.

I had to leave before dawn after just one night, and I wouldn’t stay here again. The place is run down, with filthy, outdated rooms and barely any insulation. The area felt terrible too. While I waited for the front desk clerk to check me in, two homeless people approached me. The website says dogs of all sizes are allowed, but the sign says dogs under 30 lbs, so I couldn’t tell which rule applied. There were curtains on only one window, and light came in all night. I couldn’t find a designated pet area, if there even was one. The guy at the desk gave me a checkout time, then hurried off. When I went to check out, the office was closed, so I had to put the sticky keys they’d given me in the mail slot and hope that was okay. Even for one night, this was a terrible stay. If we pass through again, we’ll find somewhere else. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here.

My stay was booked for June 12, 2025, but when I arrived, I was told the reservation had been canceled because there was no card on file. They were full, so I had to find another hotel. The problem is, my card was still charged for a stay I never had. Since then, I’ve asked for the charge to be refunded three times over five months, by November 18. Each time I was told to wait, then the request was closed and I heard nothing more. I usually wouldn’t blame the hotel for an issue with the customer experience team, but the hotel canceled my booking for supposedly having no card on file and then charged that same card. That’s why I’m leaving this review.
