Mamaroneck Motel

I was a little nervous after reading the reviews, but the room was cleaner than I expected, and the bed was comfortable. This isn’t a fancy place, just a clean, safe motel with hot water, which was exactly fine for me. It’s also only about 20 minutes from West Chester Airport.

The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water, and the towels and bathroom were clean, though the bathroom itself was tight and the sink small. I booked for one night, Apr. 26, 2025, after hesitating over the mixed reviews, and was glad I gave it a try. It’s a no-frills motel, but the room felt cozy and was clean; the bed, pillows, and linens were comfortable and clean too. There was a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Shops and restaurants are nearby, and the Metro North station is close, with trains to the heart of Manhattan / Grand Central Station in under 30 minutes. It’s easy to get to, and I’d suggest it if you want to save money and don’t need extras.

The room had a big bed, working WiFi and AC, and a shower with good pressure and hot water. The location is good, with restaurants close by, and the basic setup includes a microwave, coffee pot, and mini-fridge. It met our needs for one night, but the place is worn out. The bathrooms are tiny, the towel rack was coming off the wall, and the grout was dirty. Walls, trim, furniture, doors, and hardware were all pitted or scratched, and some things were dirty. Nothing was bad enough to demand a refund, but the whole motel needs a thorough clean inside and out and a small renovation. It’s an old-school 1940s-50s motel, and it’ll do in a pinch if you need a night’s stay and want to save a buck.

The room was so small there was barely space to walk, and I had to get dressed in the shower.
