Wendy at the front desk gave exceptional service. After I'd returned to Seattle, she went far beyond what was expected to help me get back a precious item I'd lost. That kind of attentive care is unusual, and I really appreciated it. We had a terrific four-day buddy ski trip at the 1849 condos. Convenience, ease, and comfort were all five-star.

The unit had everything we needed, and the location is great. Towel availability could probably be handled better, but we've stayed here before and hope to keep coming back.

Being so close to the lifts is the main draw here. It's generally nice, though older, and that comes with some old issues. Still a good place, and a makeover could make it great.

The view, fireplace, and good shower were all lovely. We had a very pretty house with just about everything you could need, including more kitchen stuff than I have at home. One of the two bedrooms did have an uncomfortable bed.

The location was the one good thing for us. The facilities felt more like an '80s college dormitory than somewhere for families to enjoy. Our condo was very outdated and smelled of stale cigarette smoke when we arrived. The hallway reeked of cannabis from the people next door, who also had a dog barking constantly. We were easygoing and willing to overlook that. We couldn't use the pool or hot tub with our kids either, since from about 3:30 p.m. until late they were packed with people in their 20s playing loud music and drinking. We didn't complain, even though the kids were disappointed. The disturbing part happened before checkout. At 9:30 a.m., 30 minutes before we had to leave, the property manager came to our unit and yelled at my wife and young kids because we were running a few minutes late. We'd asked earlier for a late checkout because a snowstorm the night before had put us behind and we were managing six kids under seven. The request was declined. We were only a few minutes over at that point and even offered to let the cleaners start while we finished packing the car. The manager wouldn't reason with us, showed no sympathy, and kept sending threatening messages. We got the kids out by 10:15, 15 minutes late, and were on the road by 10:30. They still charged us $100 and told us they'd have a bad review removed. The whole interaction was disturbing and unsettling. Be warned, the people running this place seem to care very little about guests and could use some lessons in customer service.
