Quality Inn Near Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort

The comfortable bed and convenient location were the bright spots, and underground parking was handy. Still, the hotel looked neglected and unclean, enough that I skipped the included breakfast. I was disappointed with the stay and wouldn't come back.

The staff were friendly, and the room was a decent size, but there were several problems. The hot tub was ice cold, the TV didn't work, and the shower pressure was so weak that you had to spend extra time rinsing off. The bed wasn't very comfortable either. Breakfast and cleaning were okay.

The problems in room 203 made this stay unacceptable, especially for what they charge in Mammoth. The bed had a broken corner that sank to the floor when we sat on it, and the shower swung from scalding hot to freezing, as if something had been installed wrong. The window was held together with duct tape, and the heater didn't work. We told the front office, but nothing was done. The hot tub towels were barely bigger than hand towels. My 9-year-old could hardly wrap one around her waist, so you can imagine how that went for an adult. These aren't luxury demands for a Motel 6. My nephew summed it up: “This place is false advertisement, they aren't what they say they are.” I asked, “What? A choice hotel?” He said, “QUALITY Inn.”

We were thankful to find this place when a snowstorm stranded us on Tuesday night. Jacob at the front desk, if I have his name right, was kind and very helpful. The underground parking meant we didn't need to dig out the car, and the elevator made it easy to get to the lobby. We had heat, hot water, and a comfortable place to stay, which was what we needed. It's not a resort, and there was some noise outside. We missed out on the hot breakfast because it had run out. We'd stay again and hope to use the pool and catch breakfast next time.
