Comfort Suites Mandeville - Covington

The staff were nice, especially an older woman who was so helpful and kind, though I can’t remember her name. The facility was clean, and it was handy being in the same parking lot as Sonic, a gas station, and Waffle House. I was there for a wedding, and this mostly felt like a place to sleep. The breakfast was underwhelming, and many of the juice and drink machines didn’t work. The treadmills in the fitness center were out of order too. When my husband asked the front desk for fresh rags, we had to bring a dirty one to trade, and the replacements weren’t even the same color. On our last night, housekeeping took the towels we’d left hanging so we could reuse them, then didn’t leave any replacements. I had a hard time washing up before we left. I wouldn’t call it bad service, but the stay was definitely strange, and I probably wouldn’t come back.

The king bed and pillows were my favorite part, and the staff were pleasant. The location was nice, and some remodeling had been done. But my room smelled musty. It looked like the roof had leaked and they hadn’t properly dried out the roof and fourth-floor rooms. A friend happened to have Lysol, which helped. Breakfast was basic: waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, cereal, and juice. There weren’t soda machines on each floor, so you had to go down to the modestly stocked pantry on the first floor.

I was riding my motorcycle across the country and arrived late at night, soaked from the rain and without a reservation. The staff were kind and helpful right away and got me a room immediately. Victoria especially went out of her way the next morning to find supplies so I could pack up and continue on. I’d stay here again next time I’m in the area.

We held our annual Louisiana Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf conference at this hotel, and I’d book it again. Getting there was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful from the room booking through checkout. Their professionalism always seemed genuine. Manager Maulik, (Mike) was amazing and worked with our organization every step of the way.
