Guesthouse on Girod

Just one block from the lake and with several restaurants within walking distance, the location is perfect. There’s also the cutest breakfast cafe across the street. The room was clean, comfortable, and cozy, with all the amenities included: hair dryer, steamer, refrigerator, and coffee bar. We spent three nights feeling right at home. What a lovely place, we’ll be back!

This lovely guesthouse sits in Old Mandeville, a block from the Lake Pontchartrain lakefront. The town has a quiet, movie-like small-town charm, and shops and restaurants are close enough to reach on foot or by bike. Our room was cozy, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Self check-in was easy. I definitely recommend Guesthouse of Girod and hope to stay again.

We came across this hidden gem while traveling from Kentucky and found it comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The nature sounds and essential-oil diffuser were an unexpected treat. Local shopping, farmers markets, the lake, restaurants, and attractions were all within walking distance. We’d love to return.

For my wife’s birthday I surprised her with a one-night getaway, and it was just right. Her jaw dropped when we pulled up to this beautiful, cozy guest house. The location worked perfectly for our dinner since we could walk there, and the property was well maintained. Our room was charming, clean, and inviting, with a bed so comfortable I need one for myself. At Christmas, Girod St. is lined with beautiful lights all the way to the lake, and the nearby neighborhoods are decorated too. We loved the holiday spirit and welcoming small-town feel. We’ll be back!
