Hi View Inn & Suites

Our flight ran late, and we didn’t reach the hotel until after 11 pm. I’d called ahead to let them know, but the front desk was empty when we arrived. The bell didn’t work, and nobody answered the phone. After we banged on the window for 5-10 minutes, someone finally came to check us in. Once we got settled, everything else was great. The room was clean and spacious.

We upgraded to a King room farther from the road, but traffic still went on nonstop. The standard room had felt claustrophobic, extremely small, with a bed only a little bigger than a single. Since the hotel sits on a major street, bring earplugs if you stay here. The rooms are basic and the location is loud, so you may as well choose somewhere with more amenities.

The woman at the desk was really kind and helpful, and housekeeping was friendly too. The issue is that the front desk person seemed to be running the place alone, so she wasn’t always there when something came up. The phone number listed here didn’t connect to the desk either. The location is okay. Manhattan Beach is quiet, and it’s about a 20-minute walk through nice neighborhoods to the beach and the small main street area by the pier. The place felt safe and was worth what I paid. Mostly clean, though the little couch in my room was quite stained. The bathroom seemed brand new.

I travel between London and Los Angeles, and this is my first choice when I want a lovely hotel in a beautiful community. It’s a great price, super clean, and well located within walking distance of Manhattan Beach Boulevard. There’s also a lovely walking path toward Hermosa or Manhattan Beach Boulevard!
