Fairfield Inn by Marriott Manhattan

Our room was clean and nice, and the downtown location had plenty of parking. We expected a fair number of guests over Memorial Day, but the hotel seemed unprepared. The waffle mix was gone, there were hardly any eggs left, and only a couple of sausage patties. Breakfast was handled HORRIBLY. I stay at a lot of Marriott properties and haven’t seen a breakfast bar run this poorly. The front desk was another problem. Usually no one was there, and when someone needed help, the response was slow.

Breakfast was warm and pleasant, and the cleaners, breakfast staff, and front desk were friendly. The hotel was very clean and the staff helpful, except for the GM. When we were considering adding a night, we checked the price and the manager offered a small discount. The GM then went behind that and retroactively raised it to the new price, removing the discount. That’s bad business, and the price rigging means I wouldn’t stay here again.

The lady with red hair in the breakfast area treated us really well. They did run out of waffle mix, which was a little disappointing, but that wasn’t their fault. The rooms were clean and the stay was great, just what you’d expect.

Madi at the front desk was polite, professional, friendly, and knew her stuff. Liz, the front desk manager, was also great and answered all my questions. I was very pleased with the amazing staff, the clean hotel, and the good breakfast. I had a positive stay and will definitely come back. Highly recommended.
