Jan is a lovely hostess, and the breakfast is tasty. The muffins to take along are handy for travel, and sharing breakfast with the other guests made for interesting conversation. Getting around can be tricky, with three flights of stairs, and the big claw-foot tub could be difficult for elderly guests. The inn is Victorian with other eras mixed in, a bit gaudy and overpriced. If you're in fair health, the river is a stroll about five blocks away, with three dining options. Motorcyclists are welcome. The parking is paved, with two pull-through spots on a horseshoe driveway.

The hosts were kind and accommodating. This is a wonderful Victorian-style bed and breakfast, and the house is immaculate, filled with lots of period household knickknacks.

The Manor is packed with interesting artifacts. We toured it with the owner, Mrs. Peterson, who knew a lot about local history and was funny.

The people inside Dempsey manor are as sweet as can be, and the place is beautifully looked after. It's lovely, with tasteful seasonal decorations every time, and I can't recommend staying here enough.

I stayed in the Dempsey suite for three nights at just the right time of year, and was lucky to have the house to myself. I hope my company sends me back for more work here. The giant one-ton bed was amazing, and I may have fallen asleep in the huge bathtub. I felt like I'd time-traveled when I put my head down at night. The house is full of Victorian-era historical pieces, and I was afraid I'd miss something if I walked through too quickly. I really enjoyed talking with the staff in the mornings. Before booking, I told them I was dairy and gluten intolerant, and that anaphylaxis isn't fun on the road. Jan was happy to find ingredients and make delicious meals. I've eaten at amazing places around the world, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best omelet I've ever had. If you're in the area, or want a weekend to see the museum, this place is amazing. I like cats, but if you don't, I hardly saw them and there was no noticeable cat smell. I wondered how there wasn't a speck of dust, and was told a team comes in weekly to clean everything. It must cost a fortune, since it'd take me a week to dust it all. I ate breakfast each morning from the period-accurate setting shown in the attached photo.
