The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The rooms were clean, with decent showers and a nicely sized bathroom, and getting luggage in was easy. The highway is close enough to make the location handy. The bedding could be better, though: the pillows were soft and the blankets very light.

I came from Ohio for a Chicago trip and stayed 08/15/25-08/17/25. The price worked well for a budget trip, and I loved my stay. I don't have pets, but this place is clearly pet friendly. There was a woman checking in with three dogs of different breeds and sizes. I don't get the one-star reviews. Breakfast had lots of choices and ran until 10, which was great for anyone who sleeps in. There were cereals, bagels, muffins, Sunbeam donuts (schoolhouse donuts😁), waffles, boiled and scrambled eggs, fruit, and sausage patties, plus jam, peanut butter, cream cheese, salt, pepper, ketchup, and syrup. They also had coffee and a dispenser with different cold juices. The pool was clean and opened at 6 am, a nice perk for early swimmers. When I got there around 10 pm, the lobby was freshly swept and mopped. The young receptionist was kind and patient with me. My room was clean too. I always check for bedbugs at every hotel, even Hilton stays, especially when I have children with me. There were none, and the beds actually looked brand new. The mini fridge and microwave were spotless. I didn't use the fitness center, but at this nightly rate I'm sure it's just as phenomenal. I'll definitely come back.

The room was comfortable and clean apart from a few dead bugs, and the lobby looked sparkling. But the breakfast was incredibly disappointing. We picked this hotel because it used to offer a good hot buffet on real tableware, not paper plates. Now the hot options were dry, unseasoned egg rounds that looked meant for breakfast sandwiches, with nothing to make sandwiches from, and pieces of Polish sausage sitting in water. That was it. They served it with paper plates and plastic forks, even though the sign on the wall still says disposable tableware is available on request. After this, we won't be choosing Country Inn and Suites anymore.

At breakfast the next morning, someone who looked very sick was sneezing, coughing, and blowing their nose right beside the food. I asked both the kitchen attendant and the front desk clerk whether they had disinfectant or wipes to clean the utensils and the refrigerator where the cold items were kept, since the person had been touching things. They said no, and nobody cleaned or disinfected the area. I was so disappointed that I checked out right away. Check-in service had been good, and the room was okay, but the pullout bed had no blanket and its sheet was visibly dirty. The shower also had no water pressure.
