HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof Philadelphia – Mt Laurel/ Maple Shade, NJ

My wife and I booked a room at HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof, but left without staying. We spent the time there looking for another hotel for the evening. The mold smell hit as soon as we walked in, though I’m not sure whether it came only from the bathroom or from other areas we didn’t see. The shower curtain had black residue that looked like mold, and the wall by the shower rod had been broken, poorly repaired, and soaked with shower water, with what looked like mold growing on or in it. There was also mold or mildew under the bathroom sink. The vent cover was caked in dust and dirt, and the toilet seat was loose and nearly falling off. Brown and yellow stains marked the walls throughout the room. The bed sheets and comforter were stained and covered with loose hairs, while the curtains were heavily stained too. The lamp between the beds was crusted with some kind of white substance. The phone was missing almost half its buttons. In the kitchen, the cooktop was caked with grease and food residue, which seemed like a fire hazard. Dirt, dust, and grease covered the microwave top and the cabinets above it, and the inside top of the microwave had a sticky brown substance. There was also a gap of almost half an inch along the bottom of the entry door, enough for insects to get in. This is the first time I’ve ever had to check out of a hotel room without staying because the conditions were so bad. If the choice is between HomeTowne Studios and walking in traffic on a busy highway, the highway is probably safer and better for your health.

I’m typing this to show how grateful I am. The hotel gives five-star service, and it was clean and safe. My room had a fridge, stove, microwave, a great bathroom, and heating and air conditioning. They’ll work with you if you’re struggling, and I strongly recommend it if you need a good motel or hotel in the area. That’s on the set lol Machiavelli rollaxk holla at me. Beamo hotboy. Paras remembered I’d asked for a quieter room at check-in and moved me to a better one before I needed to follow up. In the mornings, she’d notice my coffee cup was empty and quietly bring me a fresh one from the lobby. Jyoti was just as thoughtful. When he spotted me struggling with a heavy suitcase on the outdoor stairs, he came over, grabbed the handle, and carried it to my room without being asked. Later, I mentioned I’d left my phone charger in the car, and he handed me a spare from the office to keep as long as I needed and return whenever. The next morning, he remembered my room number and asked if I needed extra towels before checkout. Jyoti and Paras clearly care about people. They’re kind and hardworking, and they made our stay special. I’d come back because of them.

The room smelled awful and wasn’t very clean, and the bathroom was barely usable. I was really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who’s serious about finding a decent stay. At the front desk, the person tried to get me to pay more in cash instead of booking through the website. He even said there were no rooms left, then offered to do me a “favor” if I paid cash. I did, and ended up paying $40 extra.
