It’s quiet here, perhaps because the rooms are well soundproofed, and they’re clean and well kept. The heat is central, though parts of the room and the downstairs dining area can feel cool at times. I’d hoped there would be more to do. It’s basically a place to sleep and have breakfast, with no bar or game room. The dining room and reception close around 8 PM, so after that you’re stuck in your room. There are board games downstairs, but you can’t get to them in the early evening. The stay wasn’t bad, but next time I’ll probably choose somewhere else, so I have something to do if the weather’s bad or I feel like staying in.

The staff were excellent and accommodating, and breakfast was included and great. It’s a wonderful bed and breakfast. The older building adds a lot of charm, though it comes with minor hassles like mattress firmness and having to fiddle with the faucets. Those were easy enough to overlook, and the heat and hot water worked consistently.

I haven’t stayed here, and the inn has changed hands since then. In the past, it was a beautiful, elegant place to enjoy tea or a cocktail. From the photos I’ve seen on IG, it looks like the new owners have invested a lot in renovating this gorgeous historic location. It should be really beautiful and ready for the 2022-23 ski season.

Stefania is the best part of this place. After a snowstorm, she helped several of us get our cars unstuck and up the hill. My 2WD Jeep couldn’t make it, so she let me leave it and drove me to the mountain herself. What could’ve been a wasted, frustrating day turned into an adventure, though a somewhat harrowing one. I can see why families come back year after year. I stayed overnight before the storm, hoping to ski fresh powder at Hunter Mountain. The location in Tannersville is convenient, with restaurants and shops nearby. It’s an old house full of character, though the floor in my room definitely sloped. The antique furnishings were charming, and the bathroom had a great stand-up shower with seriously awesome water pressure, so there are modern comforts too. I skipped breakfast, but the coffee was great. Stefania treats you like family.

We’ve stayed here two years running and highly recommend it. The historic building has been recently renovated, the rooms are clean and quaint, and the innkeeper is lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast is delicious, there are mountain views all around, and Hunter Mountain Resort is a quick drive away.
