The beach and nearby restaurants are a real plus, and the hotel and room were clean. The exercise facility is excellent, too. The staff we encountered were few, but friendly and helpful, especially the valets. We’ve stayed here four times, most recently in 2022, so this review is for former guests who may expect the resort hotel from four or more years ago. A lot has changed behind the scenes. The hotel counter used to be staffed; now it’s empty, and you deal with earbuds-guy (see other reviews) at a desk across the lobby. The on-site spa and resort clothing shop are vacant. Beach service has changed as well. Free pairs of sturdy chaises-longues and full-size umbrellas, with staff taking food and beverage orders, used to come with the stay. Now you have to carry large folding chairs from your room or rent chairs on the beach from a third party. A greeter also tells you the free chairs there are only for “Tarpon Club” members. In winter 2026, we stayed in garden view suite (#609), which had been pleasant on earlier visits. Workers renovating the roof were only a few feet away on most days, so we couldn’t use the balcony. Management offered cancellation and a refund before the trip because the pool was still closed. We declined, but the amount of construction came as a surprise. Even setting the construction aside, I’d rate this as a 3-star-level hotel now. The location is good, but room amenities are sparse, with no bathrobes or room service. It’s still a good value for the location.
