LaVenture is a big part of why my spouse and I like staying at Hotel Saint George. The food and service are both excellent, and last time we especially enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs, pizzas, and salmon plate. The rooms are cozy and have a clean, sleek look, with beautiful modern paintings by local artists around the hotel. It's my favorite place to stay in Marfa, and there's no question we'll book it again next time we're here.

John at the front desk was great, and the room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Those were the best parts of the stay. The pool area was a mess, with dirt in the pool and around the seating. Apart from John, service felt flat and nearly unfriendly. I was hoping for more.

We've had bad service here before, and lunch didn't improve things. After our food arrived, the waiter never once came back to refill our water or ask if we needed anything. I eventually found the water and cookies set out for hotel guests and brought some to our table. I can't comment on the rooms, but the service has been consistently horrible. I would've asked for the manager and complained loudly, but there was nobody around to hear it.

The location made it easy to walk around town, and the hotel restaurant served great food. We loved our weekend there. The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated, and the service was excellent and friendly.

We spent an hour walking around Marfa because our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 2:30, even though check-in was at 3. I gave the service three stars because nobody called to let us know once the room was ready. Apart from that, it's a nice hotel.
