Comfort Inn & Suites

The bed was comfortable enough, and we didn't eat breakfast, but I won't stay here again. We paid $160 for the night and still had cold showers and lumpy pillows. At first there was no hot water. After we called, the front desk said they would check, then called about 15 minutes later to say they'd turned up the water heater. The water got warm for a while, but in the morning it was cold again. My husband barely got a warm shower and I got a cold one. Another guest mentioned the cold water in the lobby, and the desk said they'd raise the heater temperature, but by then it was too late. The AC didn't work from the start. It was chilly outside, so that wasn't a huge problem, but the room still felt muggy when we arrived. If you have a large vehicle, you have to park in the dirt lot, which is really a collection of water-filled potholes. You can barely see concrete blocks in one puddle, as if they're part of an old foundation. A day cab with a trailer nearly got stuck twice while looking for a space. You can also hear doors slamming in the hallways. For $160, I expected at least warm water.

The room was clean, and the front desk employees were helpful and nice. We stayed a second night but didn't get fresh towels. I thought housekeeping was supposed to bring them, though maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, there's laundry on the ground floor and places to eat nearby.

I've stayed here three times while traveling through the area, but I won't come back. I'd rather drive another hour to a better hotel. The desk worker barely acknowledged me at check-in and only stood up to hand me a key. He's rude and doesn't care. I drive a large motorhome, and they insist large vehicles park in a mud hole out front. Driving through it is bad enough, then I track mud into my expensive motorhome. If they want us to park there, they could at least put down shell and level the lot. Inside, the room wasn't clean either. Recent paint work left splatters all over the bathroom floor, and the shower rod seems to have been moved, with rough drywall mud smeared over the old spot and no sanding or paint. They also moved breakfast to a later time for the weekend. I guess they assume nobody works on weekends. The service here is the worst.

We had a pleasant stay with no real complaints. Just a heads-up for anyone in room 218: when I used the hair dryer it began smoking and smelled like burning plastic. I let the woman at the front desk know, and she said she'd have maintenance check it.
