Baymont by Wyndham Kennesaw

The breakfast area was dirty and off-putting, and the common-area floors and walls were filthy too. There's no elevator. On the grand stairwell, dust had built up on the banisters except where people had recently touched them. The room looked clean at first, but anything beyond easy reach was filthy. While I was sitting on the commode, a cockroach walked right past me. The wall-mounted hair dryer and badly mounted outlets worried me even more. This could be a nice hotel if someone cared about upkeep and brought in a decent handyman. Clearly, that doesn't seem important here.

It's okay at best. The staff were fine, and the location is about the only thing going for it. Everything seemed dirty, from the shower and towels to the ice box, and we walked in to find two half-used toilet paper rolls waiting for us. The microwave and TV couldn't be used together because one would cut the other off. The toilet sits very low and was hard to flush fully. There are two floors and no elevator, but at least the hotel was quiet.

The room was really dark, and the lamp couldn't be plugged in because the air conditioner used the only outlet. There was a strong mold smell as soon as we walked in, and the towels had hair on them. Getting the pullout couch open took about 30 minutes and a lot of effort. The sheets on it were dirty, and I don't know how food got under the cover and into the bed part unless it had been folded up with food inside. The mattress was thin and painful, with springs poking out. My kid couldn't sleep on it. Breakfast was pretty limited. On the weekend there were partially frozen eggs, pale sausage patties, and biscuits. The daily options were frosted flakes, raisin brand, store-bought powdered donuts, and watery waffles.

The owners and staff were awesome and went out of their way to accommodate us. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfy, and breakfast was really good. They clearly put in the effort to make your stay a good one. I'd happily recommend Baymont by Wyndham Kennesaw, GA. There's plenty to see and do in Kennesaw too.
