Teresa at reception went well beyond what I’d expect at a front desk. Her friendliness and the way she checked that we were enjoying ourselves turned our mini vacation into a memorable one. The lodge is lovely, quaint, and close enough to walk to restaurants. We liked cooling off in the outdoor pool and having happy hour before walking to dinner and a show at the Grove House. The room was spacious and very clean, with a big comfy bed. The landscaping was pretty and made it feel like a vacation. We’ll come back and highly recommend it. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The staff were all so friendly. We had a spacious, clean room, a comfy bed with four different pillows to choose from, and a big bathroom with great water pressure. It’s a great spot for walking around town and not a far drive from Yosemite. We’d stay here again and highly recommend it.

I wish I could give zero stars. On a Monday morning in the off season, with only three cars in the lot, we asked for just ten extra minutes to check out and were threatened with extra fees. The front desk woman was rude and dismissive, wouldn’t let us speak with a manager, and told us to leave. Hospitality clearly isn’t their business. To clarify after the response: when you called, I politely asked for ten more minutes. You had no pleasantries and asked, “why haven’t you checked out”. You replied to my request rudely and unprofessionally: “10 more minutes and then you will be charged for late checkout”. I acknowledged that, but my issue was with how it was said and how the situation was handled. At the front desk I wasn’t yelling. I simply asked, “Is this how you talk to customers”. You wouldn’t listen and kept arguing. I then asked for a manager or someone senior who might know how to handle the situation better. You again acted rudely and unprofessionally, saying, “I’m the only manager here and you will need to talk to me”. Then you loudly and sarcastically said, “Wish you a good day,” mostly as a threat to make us leave. We left immediately because we honestly didn’t feel safe and were scared, since it’s your property. Please don’t mislead people.

We went as a husband, pregnant wife, and baby. The hotel was quiet and well positioned, but there wasn’t enough care for guests’ health. The day after we arrived, when we went to reception to discuss checkout, we saw a notice on the wall saying the local county had found tap water unsafe for pregnant women and small children to drink because of high chemical levels, PFAS. There had been no notice in the bathroom, room, welcome sheet, or online after booking. No free bottled water was provided, and we had all drunk the tap water, including my pregnant wife.

The rooms smell kind of bad, probably because the carpets are ancient, and the plumbing is absolutely horrible. I hear the pool is rarely open. Camping is a big step up. Run from this motel! Sorry, Mariposa lodge, the front desk people are so-so.
