Paragon Casino Resort

The place was comfortable and there were lots of people around to help. Our room was clean, and the casino was enjoyable, even if a bit dated. Everything seemed well kept. The one real problem was the shower had no hot water, so it was freezing, though the sink did have hot water.

Darlene Gormsen in Voila deserves a shout-out. I ran into a service issue, and she kept working to sort it out. I really appreciate the effort, Darlene, and hope her guest service gets recognized. Team members like her are why guests come back. She's a gem. Keep it up! Veronica

The rooms weren't worth what I paid, and the whole visit left me disappointed. Playing at the casino has gotten expensive, there are hardly any cashiers on the floor to bring drinks, and the replacement machines aren't enjoyable or paying out. I used to look forward to coming here, but it doesn't feel the same anymore. We went over to LJ's truck stop down the road and wished we'd started there. The machines were better and the payouts pretty good. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I'm done being a customer at the paragon.

On an earlier visit, we got a room with no heat and were freezing. This stay started badly too: we checked in Saturday afternoon, got a key, and found someone's clothes on the bathroom floor. An ironing board and iron were set up inside. We hurried out, relieved nobody was there, since that could have been an awful situation for both parties. The desk area was a mess, nobody seemed to know what they were doing, and there wasn't an apology. After we finally got another room, we only had an hour to shower before the Joe Nichols Concert. The body wash, shampoo, and conditioner bottles were empty, though luckily I'd brought my own, and there was no time to get food. Both visits, we had to wait for valet because there isn't enough handicapped parking outside the hotel. We're from Dallas, Texas, and I don't know when we'll be back. We spend a lot at the casino, but need to hear that personal safety and accommodations will improve before considering a return.
