Value Host Motor Inn

The motel is right off the highway and next to a grocery store, which made the location handy. Our room looked nice, though the window faced the storage units, and some rooms seem more updated than others. We had trouble getting the thermostat to a comfortable setting, but nothing else went wrong. Breakfast was limited, mostly packaged items like granola bars, muffins, and bagels.

The front desk staff were nice, and the place seemed clean. It’s only about 6 minutes from downtown Marquette. Housekeeping was inconsistent: our room was cleaned just 1 of the 4 days, and we got fresh towels and washcloths on only 2 of the 4 days. Breakfast had cereal, coffee, juice, bagels, and muffins. For a cheaper stay, it was decent.

No frills and perhaps a bit dated, but this was a great place to stay. The rooms were roomy and well appointed, and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful from our first phone call through checkout, and made us feel at home. It’s close to everything and had the best prices in Marquette. We’ll stay here again on our next trip UP. 😁

We’d stay here again without hesitation. It’s an old-fashioned, well-maintained hotel in a convenient spot, close to what we needed, and the price was reasonable compared with other local hotels. Our room was spacious and clean, which mattered most to us, and it had a microwave but no fridge. Breakfast was good, with cereal, milk, coffee, bagels, muffins, cereal bars, oatmeal, hot chocolate, and apple and orange juice. Pets are allowed for a fee. A good choice if you just need somewhere to sleep before getting back on the road the next day.
