Motel 6 Ogden, UT - 21st Street

I was there a couple nights ago, and for a Motel 6 the room was a 5/5. It was cheap and relatively clean. You could maybe hear other guests through the walls, but people seemed considerate, and there was very little talking or hanging around outside the rooms. The freeway was a plus for me. Its sound actually softened other sudden noises around the motel, which I thought was cool. Service gets five stars too. I needed a fork, and the front desk clerk supplied one, so I didn't have to go back to Flying J. I did notice a few possible problems from the remodel, but I'm keeping those separate from the rating.

Most of my stay was pleasant. Checking out was the exception. I waited 15 minutes before someone came to the desk, and she said she'd been in the bathroom. If staff need to step away, it would help to leave a sign saying they'll be right back.

For a quick night of sleep, it was okay and cheap. The bed was comfortable, and they let me bring my dog without an extra charge. I could live with the noise after I took out my hearing aids. The place itself is a basic old motel, though. There's no coffee in the room, just the lobby, and the plastic type flooring meant I heard plenty from the room above. First the TV wouldn't turn on, then it wouldn't turn off. The shower floor looked a little scary, so I skipped it. It was super cheap for a reason.

My wife still has purple marks on her foot and ankle, and cleaning all our clothes after the stay took a lot of effort and money. We were there December 5-7 and booked through Booking.com. We found bedbugs. I have photos and proof, and I called both companies to complain, but I've been given the runaround. The location wasn't great, but we knew that when we booked and could have dealt with it. I'm posting because no one listened when we raised the bedbug issue. People should be warned before staying here.
