I’ve been staying here long-term, and Orlando and Jamie have consistently gone above and beyond for me and other guests. During a very difficult family situation, they took my concerns seriously and addressed them right away. Their professionalism, compassion, and integrity helped me feel safe and respected when I was under a lot of stress. Even while I was managing my dogs and other personal challenges, they were patient, understanding, and kind. They care about people, not just room numbers, and their leadership shows in how helpful and attentive the staff are. That kind of service is rare. Thank you for the compassion and care. It hasn’t gone unnoticed.
I always feel safe here, and it's quiet. I've stayed four times for a few days each, in September, October, November, and December 2025. Each time, I've been treated well. The rooms aren't fancy, but they're clean, comfortable, and have everything I need. Orlando is always nice, and the staff do their best. Sometimes the front desk team is busy in the back room, so if you need help and don't see anyone in the lobby, just say something. They almost always come right out when they know you're there. Thank you.
A cockroach on the wall around 1 a.m. was the last straw. We had arrived that evening to a room that smelled strongly of cigarettes, with dirty bathroom towels and hair in the shower. My wife spotted the roach as we were getting ready for bed, so we packed up and went straight to the lobby. The front desk employee wasn't at fault for the room, and we politely asked about a refund. She said she couldn't issue one herself and gave us the manager's business card. We found a much better hotel elsewhere and checked in around 3 a.m. It was not the night we wanted. The manager refused to refund the first night, saying their definition of staying the night was staying past 11 p.m. I explained that we hadn't slept there and had paid for another hotel that same night. She kept insisting that I had stayed the night, told me, "you're not getting that refund," and spoke to me in a condescending, insulting way. The hotel staff and corporate both refused to give me a written record of their decision. After corporate also declined the refund, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Extended Stay gave the card company a factually incorrect timeline and claimed I had stayed two nights for the whole reservation, though I hadn't even stayed one. My records showed I checked into the other hotel using the same credit card, which disproved their claim, and I won the dispute. The managers and corporate employees I spoke with behaved and communicated deplorably. You don't treat people like that.
The lack of security is the main reason I wouldn't stay here again. It's open around the clock without secure doors or cameras anywhere, so stay at your own risk. I searched for a way to contact the corporation and owners about this, but couldn't find contact information. The lounge is also locked every day after 9:30 a.m. because vagrants enter the facility, mainly after hours, leaving nowhere to relax outside the room even though it's a service guests pay for. On the positive side, the Westport Central location is convenient and affordable, the staff are nice, and the facility is clean. The rooms are comfortable, the basic grab-and-go breakfast is good, the laundry room is ample, and there's a nice fitness center and a place to grill. It's my first Extended Stay, and while the facility is outdated, it covers the basics for a long stay. Housekeeping could do better with the elevator floor and metal tracks. The room floors also don't appear to be mopped, perhaps because the faux wood is dark. It also looks like some people live here full time.
Lisa, the weekend manager, treated me like family, and I want to thank her especially. I travel for work and have often felt that extended stay hotels overlook what guests need. Here, they met all my requests, even simple things like dish soap or something specific to my situation. Lisa made each day more enjoyable.
