La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St. Louis Westport

The bed was really comfortable, and the room was great. There was fresh coffee available all the time, too. I stayed here in late Oct 2025 and liked it enough to book the same hotel for my next business trip. They let me check in an hour early, which was a relief after getting up very early and flying to STL for a nap before my event. The hotel was close to the event as well.

The towels were a constant problem during our Thursday-to-Sunday stay. The room was supposed to have three bath towels, three washcloths, a runner, and two face towels, but I got only three bath towels total, two washcloths, and nothing else, even after complaining twice. My children and I were refused clean towels until I got irritated, and then they brought just two. I had to buy soap and use the hotel washer and dryer to have clean towels. The tub was never cleaned either. Other parents in our group bought towels to use as mats on the tub floor. The shower was nasty, with a dirt ring around the tub. One star was too generous. They really should be giving money back.

The hotel is older and has been renovated, so some dated features remain, but it was perfectly adequate for what we paid. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was like most hotel breakfasts, though the coffee was very good. It’s in a great location for the price. Our key cards kept losing their activation and had to be replaced twice, but I’d still stay there again.

The plumbing was a mess: the toilet kept running even after I told the front desk, the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain, and I had to fix that myself. The tub and shower were dirty, with grit underfoot and dirty water visible when I stepped in. The room smelled, as did the hallway, and the AC didn’t remove the humidity. The carpet was torn and held down with gaffer tape. I’m here for work because it’s close to my office, but next time I’ll stay farther away to avoid this place.
