Larkspur Landing Extended Stay Suites St. Louis Riverport - Airport West

We were moving from Ohio and needed a place while our house wasn’t ready, so I booked ten days and planned to extend if needed. We ended up changing hotels after that. The room was okay for the price, and the lobby was nice, but the amenities were among the worst I’ve seen in hotels from the Midwest to the East. Our king bedroom suite was tiny. I knew from reviews that sheets weren’t provided for the pullout couch, so I planned to use a flat sheet from our bed for my daughter, but couldn’t find the sheets we’d brought. Breakfast was awful: just a waffle maker, some fruit, and bread, with no protein, so I still had to make my daughter a healthy meal. The pool was ordinary, only five feet deep, and there was no hot tub. Laundry cost $6 for wash and dry, and required an app with prepaid funds, so you had to put in at least $10. The weekend noise was also a problem: people below us banged on a door and ran through the halls. My daughter was scared and couldn’t sleep. The worst part was arriving at 2:30 a.m. after a six-hour drive when I had to work at 9. Nobody was at the desk, and our calls before arrival went unanswered, even though I checked that the phone rang. Eventually an employee came in from her car, parked in the loading zone by the doors. She was rude and obviously high. We got checked in and it was fine after that. If you can afford a better place, take it. If not, this one isn’t terrible, but you’re getting what you pay for.

The separate living room was nice, but dirty dishes were there when we arrived. The place advertises a full kitchen, yet ours had no oven or cooking utensils and only two tiny pots. Upstairs neighbors let their child run around day and night, with lots of loud banging. The front desk wouldn’t step in, and we went days without sleep. The elevator also broke down. We have a handicapped person with us who can’t walk far enough to reach the other elevator.

The carpet had a smell, though it wasn’t too bad and should be an easy fix. Apart from that, everything was perfect, and the staff were professional, friendly, and very hospitable. I’ll definitely come back.

There wasn’t clean bedding for the pullout couch when we arrived. The front desk said someone would bring it, but no one came. The kids were tired, and after waiting almost an hour we called again, only to find the shift had changed. At midnight, the man at the front desk made us come down ourselves to get blankets. We also had no hot water, and had to wait for maintenance to come from home to fix it. My request to switch rooms was refused. We will NEVER BE BACK!
