The hotel was good, but the internet was a real letdown. I got only 2.5 Mbps down, and paying for the premium plan didn’t improve the speed at all. In winter, the elevator was another annoyance since it connects to the outdoors and isn’t heated.

Once we got inside, the place was great: clean rooms, comfy beds, a decent gym, and a really good breakfast. The A/C also has a setting that stays on. Getting oriented at arrival was confusing, though, because there are almost no signs. If you’re driving a large vehicle, they own the old bus stop at ground level. And the first floor starts on the fourth floor.

We arrived for breakfast five minutes before 10, but it had already been cleared away, even though breakfast was meant to run until 10. Since everything else was closed on Christmas, I asked if there was anything left. Patricia said they were out while she and Kathleen were both eating from full plates behind the desk. The service from Patricia, the manager, and Kathleen at the front desk was horrible, especially on Christmas Day. They were extremely rude.

This is a great spot for bikers on the towpath trail, with lots of fun little restaurants and bars nearby. Our room was clean and nice, and breakfast was great too. Adam at the front desk was amazing and helped sort out a couple of small problems with check-in times and digital keys. Someone should give him a raise!

Adam took great care of us at check-in and checkout, and helped with anything else we needed. We were very happy with our stay at this Hampton Inn, and the recent renovations look great.
