Matlacha Tiny Village

We’re a couple in our 60s and absolutely loved our stay. The deck was peaceful and lovely in the early afternoon and around dusk, and the inside was super quiet. The place was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed and a very comfy bed. You can walk to the bridge, the fishing pier, and the main street for breakfast, dinner, or shops. Cape Coral is nearby, too. After two significant hurricanes here in the last four years, I think staying here is a good way to support local businesses.

That waterfront deck and dock are a lovely place to have coffee in the morning or watch the water and boats in the evening. Local shops, galleries, coffee spots, and Blue Dog Bar & Grill are all walkable. The tiny homes are colorful, full of personality, and fit Matlacha's relaxed, artsy feel. Inside, they're cozy but thoughtfully laid out, with comfortable beds, a useful kitchen, and welcoming details. The hosts communicate clearly, check-in and check-out are easy, and they respond when you need something. The place was generally clean and well maintained. A couple of things kept this at four stars for me. Being close to the main road means some traffic noise, especially at night and early morning. Storage is limited, which makes sense in a tiny home, but could be an issue on a longer stay or with lots of luggage. A great fit for couples, friends, or small families who want a cozy, characterful place in a convenient spot. I'd happily return if I wanted a walkable, laid-back island stay.

The Christmas trees around the property were cute and whimsical, and there was plenty of outdoor seating, a fishing dock, and a grill. The houses have lovely artwork on their front doors. I spent two nights in the Flamingo tiny house, which was meticulously clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen and bathroom had everything I needed. Nearby are restaurants, whimsical shops, and a park. There was a lot of construction while I was there as Matlacha rebuilds after hurricane damage, though plenty of bright, fun buildings and houses were still around to spot. I had some questions and a problem with my original booking, and the owner was kind and quick to help. You can tell the owners care about the homes and property. I dream of having my own pink tiny house someday, and staying here let me experience that for two nights.

We loved our two nights in the Iguana tiny home. It was really clean and nicely decorated, and the property was beautiful and quiet. The owners were attentive and communicated clearly. The app made things easy, such a good idea. Local restaurants were awesome, and there's plenty to see nearby. We'd definitely recommend a stay.
