The room was the biggest letdown. The fridge didn’t work, so I had to keep my food in the lobby fridge, and nobody apologized or offered another fix. It was dirty and smelled bad, with patchy wall repairs, bathroom fixtures coming apart, a broken iron, and a visibly dirty ironing board cover. The online photos gave a very different impression. I’ve stayed at plenty of IHG properties, and this was easily my worst experience. The front desk wasn’t welcoming, I wasn’t thanked for being an IHG member, and the hospitality fell far below what I expect from the brand. Luckily, I was there for just one night. I wouldn’t recommend this property.

Really good place. The location, breakfast, amenities, and quality were all good, and I’d stay here again. Chris deserves five stars. He was amazing and took care of everything without hesitation.

The price is very good, and the room was clean and modern. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of hot, fresh choices, and every staff member I spoke with, housekeeping included, was friendly and welcoming. I don’t understand why Google calls this a “2 star” hotel. It has the best rating in Matthews, even compared with more expensive places, and deserves more than 4.3 out of 5.

The pool looked clean and inviting, and I almost went in, but I didn’t have my swimsuit. They also have evening refreshments, and my aunt said the breakfast is very nice. We spent the evening with her and had a lovely time. She was very pleased with her room, which was quite nice. There were a few patched spots where the ceiling and walls had been repaired, but everything else was fine.

The bathroom odor wouldn’t go away, and the floors hadn’t been vacuumed or swept properly. The whole place was dusty and didn’t smell clean. I’ve stayed at other locations in nearby states and haven’t had these problems. I hope they give the staff proper cleaning supplies and get back to the Holiday Inn standards I’m used to. I came to North Carolina for a weekend trip and chose this hotel, so I’m honestly very disappointed with this location.
