I’ve stayed here five times this past month and used to give it a good review because the staff were friendly, even after I killed bugs in my room and didn’t complain. This stay cost $30 more than usual because of homecoming weekend. Checkout is at 11 am, but at 9:30 this morning, while I was fully dressed and my guest wasn’t, someone knocked and then came straight in. I was in the middle of a sex act. Staff swiped a card and started entering without announcing themselves. That was a total breach of privacy and incredibly embarrassing. Would not recommend at all.

The location is handy, with easy access to I-57 and a central spot in Mattoon. I like having a small fridge in the room and the ice machine nearby. The staff are very friendly, and it’s a good inexpensive place for me to stay when I’m in town. The rooms aren’t fancy, and the satellite and cable service could be better.

Patti, the manager, and the rest of the staff have always been friendly when my children and I have stayed here, and when family has visited town. The rooms have always been clean for us. I’ve seen a comment about rooms smelling, but neither I nor my family have had that problem. We’ve also had some great encounters with other guests. Some reviews I’ve read seem to reflect confusion, since Super 8 has always been the first choice for family and friends. I have had Wi-Fi connection issues, though that’s not a big deal. I know Patti pretty well by now, and being made to go outside during a thunderstorm seems out of character for her. I’ll be back at Super 8 in a couple days, and I’ll be happy to post pictures and videos here. Have a blessed day.

For a quick stay, it’s clean and safe. The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. It’s in the food district, not far from Walmart and Aldi ^_^!
