Quality Inn Mauston I-90

First time staying here, and it was clean, comfortable, and just nice. The front desk service was friendly too. I'll definitely come back, though the pillows could be better and I'd remove the carpet from the rooms.

I paid for two nights for a friend who's going through a difficult time. The morning front desk employee didn't tell her anything about the second night, and now I'm being charged another $159.66 because of their mix-up. When I asked about the extra charge on my card, she got aggressive and waved her hands around as if I were stupid for asking. I don't recommend staying until a second or third shift front desk person is available. The first shift treated me horribly for asking about charges I saw in my banking app.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the pool area was clean. The room, bathroom, and bedding were clean overall, though the floors could've been cleaner. It was a good one-night stay for $100 including taxes. The room was a little dated, but not bad. Breakfast was okay, but they ran out of eggs, sausage, and pastries. Parking was tight because of oversized vehicles and trailers. There were quite a few people walking around the lot, but I had no issues. A police officer was talking with people in the morning, though I'm not sure what was going on. Not bad overall. One odd thing: many rooms require you to walk through the pool area to get to the front desk and dining room.

We were in town for a marathon and had a horrible night. The room smelled of mildew, the carpet felt wet, and the bathroom was dirty. My husband found filthy filters in the AC unit, and the TV remote didn't work. At 3 a.m., the AC fan woke all of us because it sounded like someone had poured a bag of rocks into it. The whole family had respiratory allergy flare-ups. They advertised a free continental breakfast but never put it out, and even the coffee maker had a handwritten 'out of service' sign. Don't stay there. Sleep in your car if you have to, for real.
