Fox Mountain Inn

Traveling with our dog was easy here. There's a leash-free spot for her, and they don't charge an extra pet fee. Just call and book a pet room directly. The inn is right off the highway but stayed quiet, and the rooms were cozy and comfortable for the price. The family who runs it is so sweet and welcoming. They put out cinnamon rolls, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the morning, and they were great with my 7-year-old. This is my new go-to for road trips between SC and PA. Can't wait to stay again.

I stayed two days and had a wonderful time. Jim and Michelle were really kind to me, and I loved the art in the rooms since I'm a big art fan. Those homemade cinnamon rolls were soooo delicious. I hope I can come stay again someday.

We were looking for somewhere to crash for the night and are so glad we found this inn. The reviews were spot on. It's clean and comfortable, with bright walls and cute puppy artwork. The mattress was comfy, water pressure was great, and that cinnamon roll was the best I've ever had. Five stars.

The room itself was pleasant, but take everything inside with you when you arrive. On our return from Myrtle Beach, we forgot my husband's slippers in the car, and our 45-year-old daughter went out to get them. I also needed a phone cord. There was a security camera by our car, which I didn't mind, and we looked around because it was after sunset and there was a "beware of bear" sign. The next morning I went to get the homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee for the three of us. Melissa accused us of having a dog in the room. I told her we didn't have one, but she kept calling me a liar and said they saw us on camera taking a dog out of the car and checking that nobody was watching. I explained about the slippers and phone cord. She claimed we'd done the same thing on our first stay, on the way to Myrtle Beach. If they believed that, why rent to us a second time? Jim had a camera picture of our daughter carrying the "alleged dog." I asked him to come look at the room and car and see that there was no dog. Both Melissa and Jim refused several times. I said he didn't have the balls to admit he was wrong. He then said there had been dog hair after our first stay. I told him we have no dog. He said there was "some kind of hair" in the sweeper, but still wouldn't check the room or car. We were told to leave, which we were already doing. Why did they rent to us again if they were so sure? If they'd seen us bringing in an alleged dog the first time, why not say so before we checked out? If they truly thought a dog was in the car, they should have contacted the Humane Society about possible neglect. The alleged dog was never walked, taken to potty, or heard making a sound. We've named the invisible dog Waldo, but still can't find him. Creepy and gross. In response to your reply: We would never stay at Fox Mtn Inn again. On our first visit, I told Michelle our daughter was with us and offered the extra $10 for another person. She said that wasn't necessary. I don't remember signing a no-pet paper, but there'd have been no reason to refuse because we don't have a dog. I wish I'd asked to see the first and second pictures of this "alleged dog." You've got quite an imagination. Again, if you were certain there was a dog left in the car, why not contact the authorities? I certainly would have. I tossed the rolls onto the table, not across the room. People asked how the stay went, and I honestly explained the false accusations, being called a liar, the refusal to check the room and car, and the refusal to admit the mistake. I was angry, yes, but they wouldn't verify what they were accusing us of. Jim said he found hair in the sweeper after our first stay but didn't know what kind. Really? You accused us over "some kind of hair" that could have belonged to a previous guest. You also told us on the way back that someone had canceled an ADA room reservation and moved us into that room. That was the chance to raise the alleged dog issue if you were so certain after the first stay. I'm not a liar. We don't have a dog. I'm sure you don't want to be called a liar either, but the shoe fits. Good luck with the business, you'll need it.
