Breakfast and good conversation are part of what makes a stay here so enjoyable. Every room has little details and surprises to keep you looking, with art and creations by the talented owners, Edward and Cynzia. The 120-year-old Gillen House B&B has been immaculately restored, and the house, rooms, and grounds are lovely places to relax. If you're staying near or passing through Athens, Ga, I highly recommend it.

The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, are wonderful. We sat chatting and sharing stories as if we'd known each other forever, and the upstairs coffee bar was a nice little perk. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. We celebrated my birthday weekend at the Gillen House, and dinner was fabulous. The pork tenderloin was the best I've ever had, and it was so nice to check in and not have to head back out to find a meal. Make dinner reservations there! Thanks for making my birthday weekend so memorable. We hope to return in spring or summer to see the flowers in bloom and spend more time with the hosts. ❤️

We loved the enclosed porch by our room, though there were plenty of cozy spots around the house to read or relax. Edward and Cynzia made us feel welcome to settle in like it was home. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and came with lovely conversation. The Gillen House made for a fantastic weekend getaway. We'll definitely be back!

I felt welcomed as soon as I arrived, not simply checked in. The calm, homey atmosphere made it easy to unwind, and the hosts had clearly thought through the small touches. My room was clean and cozy, and breakfast felt thoughtfully prepared rather than routine. Gillen House Bed and Breakfast was even better than I expected. It's a place I'll remember, and I'd happily stay again next time I'm nearby.

The meal was prepared with such care that the flavors kept exciting our palates all around the plate. The B&B felt luxurious inside, and the lovely grounds added to how relaxed we felt. Being with the hosts felt like seeing family after a long time, and it left us wishing we could spend more time with our new friends. Thank you for the wonderful time we shared at “The Gillen House”. We truly recommend it to anyone wanting a restful break from home or a busy life. You can enjoy a slower pace here.
