Kelly was super friendly and went out of her way to make us comfortable. We travel with two dogs, and the pet policy was very reasonable. There’s also a big area to walk them. The hot tub room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed watching lights on the lake across the road from our balcony on fall evenings. The pool, exercise room, and hot tub were all in great shape. I was unsure what to expect after reading mixed comments about safety and cleanliness, but speaking as someone who used to manage a restaurant, I thought the hotel was very clean. It’s being brought back to life under new ownership and is still a work in progress. I never felt unsafe. The entrances, including the lobby entrance after 10pm, have security doors, and the balconies and lot are well lit. Breakfast is limited and grab-and-go, which we didn’t mind since there are a few great restaurants not far from Webb’s. The resort’s former gift and candy shop and restaurant are closed and currently being sold. Keep up the good work. We look forward to visiting again!

I’ve been coming to Webb’s for over 20 years. We even booked more than 10 rooms for our wedding night after having the reception at Webb’s Captain's Table. Covid forced us to be out there, but we still had a great wedding and reception. This was one of the worst stays I’ve had, and I can overlook a lot. We arrived at 3:30 for a 3pm check-in, then waited nearly 10 minutes for someone at the desk. After giving us keys, the desk clerk said, “If there is someone staying in your room, just let us know, some things have gotten switched up this weekend.” The room hadn’t been cleaned at all. I waited another 10 minutes at the desk. The phone labeled for assistance rings the desk phone, which makes a lot of sense. Staff told us to give them 20 minutes to get the room ready, so we waited in the lobby with all our bags. They did about 20 minutes of cleaning, and it showed. They changed the bedding, but left unswept floors, used dried washcloths hanging in the shower, a dirty shower, a filthy fridge, crumbs and debris in the corners, and sticky floors. The area behind the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the place opened. Why remove the carpets? I couldn’t walk barefoot without my feet sticking or getting things stuck to them. The TV was so old it buzzed after two minutes, so they had to bring another one. Neither TV had a programmed remote, so we had to get up for everything like it was the 80s. The pool water felt around 55 degrees, if that. They said the pump was broken and didn’t want to close it for the busy weekend. Extension cords ran along the whole deck, tied to the railings. The hot tub was good, at least. Breakfast was a bagel, bread, Hostess snacks, some disturbing-looking fruit, cereal, and two Kuregs. One of them sat on a tray leaking the whole time. There were renovation signs around, which is fine, but spackle dust from sanding was piled on the floor by the breakfast area and the lobby walls were taped off and half-painted. A cage of squawking birds greets you at the entrance, and it really isn’t the place for that. This used to be somewhere I looked forward to, but I don’t plan to return. We’ll stay at The Chautauqua Suites half a mile down the road. They have what you need on site, including clean rooms. We waited for new ownership so we could have a good stay again, but it seems that may not happen for anyone. If someone else had an experience like ours this weekend, I’d watch for a For Sale sign to match the one at The Captains Table. Do better.

Kelly was awesome and very attentive to what we needed. We had a great time, and the bed was really comfortable. The pool and hot tub were great, too. Breakfast was continental, with a good selection. The updates are a big improvement over the old management. We’ll definitely be back.

We needed somewhere to sleep while passing through, and I was glad they had a room. The bed was fine once the lights were off. But the hotel clearly has people smoking in it, and the toilet in room 126 ran every 18 seconds all night. The TV wouldn’t turn off unless we unplugged it. We were there from 10:30pm to 6:30am, and I wouldn’t recommend it or choose to return. The place really needs updates and better cleaning.

The location was great and the rooms were decent, but the pool was disgusting. My boyfriend and I saw TONY take someone’s snowmobile gloves and thought they’d be returned. The next morning, the person whose gloves were taken asked about them. We told KELLY THE SUPERVISOR what we’d witnessed. She checked TONY’s room, said the gloves weren’t there and that TONY would never do such a thing, and refused to even check the cameras. Horrible service, especially from the supervisor.
