We were tired and arrived late, only to find the bed unmade, without sheets. The pillows had no cases and were filthy, and the blanket had been tossed on a chair. I went back to the office and told the manager. At first I didn't think he believed me, but when I said I had pictures, he asked to see them. Only after that did he give us a key to a different room.

We found this hotel while looking for an affordable place for the night, and were impressed from the start. Even though we arrived late, the woman there gave us a warm welcome. Our room was clean and lovely, and we slept wonderfully in the bed. We left the next morning feeling great. Thank you!

In its current run-down condition, this place needs a major upgrade, or maybe to be torn down. It's dilapidated, and things don't work properly. We couldn't even get towels, though the water eventually got hot. Someone with the money and interest needs to buy it, put money back into it, restaff it, and fix or upgrade pretty much everything.

I've stayed here several times a month for three years while working in McAlester a few days each month. The motel is dated, but clean, and at around $40 it's been a good value. I've always liked staying here, and the train that comes through in the middle of the night doesn't bother me because I'm a hard sleeper. Still, I've stopped coming because the rates keep going up under the new management. The manager is a nice lady, and though I sometimes have trouble understanding her, she has kept the place clean and neat for its age. Cleanliness and personality aren't my issue. I usually booked through a third party for promotions and incentives as an avid traveler. I know some places prefer regular guests to book direct because it saves them money, so I didn't mind when she asked me to book with her. I'd tell her when I'd be in the area and she'd have a clean room ready. But over the last few months, the price went from $40 to $45, then $50. On my last visit, she said the going rate was $60, but settled on $50 since I was a regular. This motel isn't worth that, especially when other places in town cost less or about the same. Recent comments about third-party bookings being charged more make me wonder whether there's some kind of scam and whether she's pocketing some of the money. I'm not one to be a conspiracy theorist, but I don't understand paying $50 to $60 when it seems you can book through a third party for around or under $40. Since the new manager took over, business seems to have dwindled and almost nobody stays here anymore. I won't pay more than $40 a night, so if the rate stays above that, I'll stay elsewhere when I'm in town. I'm a long-time guest no longer staying at this motel.

I was physically accosted and had to call the police to get off the premises safely. The employees seemed high on drugs and violent. If your physical well-being matters to you, do not stay here!
