The rooms are spacious and really nice, with a comfortable bed and pillows. Chelsea, the new manager, was fantastic. She knew her job, took care of anything we asked for, and always had a smile. We've never been treated with this much care at other places. Chelsea makes this place worth staying at. Thanks, Chelsea and everyone else at super 8.

I called to reserve a room, but the woman who answered was curt and kept telling us to book online. The website showed no Super 8 in the area, so I called back to explain we couldn't make the reservation there. She hung up on me. My husband called, and she again insisted we go online and said they couldn't take a reservation by phone. I've never encountered a hotel that wouldn't book by phone. Completely rude and unprofessional.

We were exhausted after a long drive and stopped for the night. After checking in, my husband showered while I lay down to rest. Then the front door opened and a man was standing there. I was completely freaked out. Through the window, I saw him outside talking to a woman, so I got my husband and we went to the lobby. The woman at the front desk was the one I'd seen him talking to. She said he was the owner and didn't know the room was occupied, which seemed odd since she'd checked us in. About an hour later we went out for food and came back around 7 pm to sleep. Then our door opened again, this time with a woman who apparently was housekeeping. I called the desk, angry that people kept entering our room. The woman said housekeeping hadn't been told the room was rented. So was the room not clean? And who cleans at 7 pm? We couldn't rest because we were afraid of who might come in next. They offered no compensation. We'll never stay at a Super 8 again. Beware!

This did not feel like a Super 8. There were blood stains on the sheets, holes in the patched sheetrock, and the balcony looked ready to fall to the ground floor. The room smelled like pee. I don't recommend it at all.

I got a decent night's sleep and would stay another night if I'm still around for the weekend. Room 105 was downstairs, a short walk from the office, and non-smoking. It was clean, with no bugs or roaches, and the bathroom smelled of bleach. The shower and fabric curtain looked freshly cleaned. WiFi worked well, and the TV had actual cable, though the picture selection could be better. The lampshades were dusty, but that's a minor thing. The bed felt low and stiff and could use an update; the sheets and blankets smelled freshly dried with bleach. I was able to park my truck, and breakfast was fine. It's mediocre, not the Hilton, though I've stayed in worse. For the Super 8 in McAlester, OK, I'd give it 3 out of 5. There's room to improve, but it works for me.
