The quiet, comfortable room was exactly what I needed after a long drive, and I felt a real connection to the history of the place as a retired Coast Guard member. Lionsgate is on the former McClellan Air Force Base property, and the old Officers’ Club is still there as a restaurant and bar, proudly keeping its name. I found it while checking airport-area options on my drive from Southern California to Sacramento. The reviews looked good, and the stay turned out even better than I expected. Parking was free, the rate was reasonable, and breakfast started early. It was a full, warm breakfast, served with genuine hospitality. Everything I needed was right there, and the sense of service and community made the property feel welcoming. I’ll stay here again on my regular trips between Southern California and Sacramento. Highly recommend.

Breakfast had plenty of choices, and checking out from my phone through the email link was easy. Our family was here for one night for a tournament at the Capital Sports Center, which was very close by. The area was quiet, and seeing other families around made us feel comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly. The room had a nice amount of space and a cute little kitchenette we didn't need for just an overnight stay. I liked the sparkly countertops, chandelier-style lamp, and the art and wallpaper in the roomy bathroom. The TV was quite small, though, and the top bathroom outlet didn't work. I could also hear people in other rooms, as the walls seemed thin. It eventually got quiet when everyone went to sleep, I assume.

The Officers Club Restaurant has good food at prices that fit my budget, and the hotel is only about 5 or 10 minutes from the main part of the city. It's peaceful here. I'm in town from Orange County for a two-week Caltrans training class, and after my first week, I'm really enjoying the stay. My room is clean and feels like a large one-bedroom apartment. When the heater gave me trouble the other night, staff quickly moved me to the room next door, where it worked fine. Housekeeping comes in daily. The desk staff are very friendly, and the team in the complimentary breakfast area are efficient and kind. The food there is really delicious. I'd recommend Lions Gate Hotel for people working in the area or families looking for a safe, affordable, family-friendly place to stay.

TEN STARS for the night shift guy at the front desk. We checked in late, and he answered all our questions and was so freaking nice and helpful. Best customer service we've ever had. He deserves a raise and credit. Big thank you to him!! 😁😁 RM 3234

Breakfast was exceptional, and the food was good with great service. The room itself was cold, so I had a portable heater, and the carpet in both the hall and room looked old. The bed was comfortable enough. Helicopters flying overhead during the day were loud. The location was okay.
