Tera W.
We arrived right at the 3 PM check-in time, but there was nobody in the office. I rang twice and called, got the answering machine, and was contacting Hotels.com support when someone finally showed up about 15 minutes later. The guy running the place had been cleaning rooms and apparently didn’t have his phone with him. He found our reservation, then said the one-queen room we booked wasn’t available. I asked for another room, but he wouldn’t give us one because it cost $20 more. He said he’d finish the room he was doing, clean ours next, and asked us to come back in an hour. We’d wanted to check in before activities, so that was inconvenient. We went hiking and returned several hours later. Check-in itself was fine, but he took us to a double-queen room, the one he hadn’t wanted to offer at first. He could have saved us the wait, but chose not to, saying the other room needed painting, which isn’t something that just happens. The room wasn’t SUPER clean, despite what others said. I was tired and not fussy enough to deal with it. We had two towels, two washcloths, no hand towel or bath mat, and only half a roll of toilet paper with no spare. The pillows were flat. The bed adjusts at the head, which was nice for watching TV, but I didn’t sleep well. The bed itself was okay. The shower was lukewarm and had weak pressure. The guy was nice enough, but I’m glad we only booked one night. We’ll stay elsewhere tonight.
