Big Chill

We’ve come to Deep Creek for Thanksgiving for 15 years, and this was easily the dirtiest house we've stayed in. The stair railings were filthy, carpets stained, kitchen counters dirty, and the blender still had drink residue. Dishes and silverware weren't clean either. One upstairs bedroom closet smelled strongly of cat urine. The family member who slept there had to wash his clothes several times and air out his suitcase after getting home. The garage fridge was disgusting, with spilled food and liquid inside. The home is spacious, fits a family easily, and sits in a perfect mountain location, but its condition was awful. Walls were marked, doors scratched, furniture beat up, and the closets were a mess of random stuff. The hot tub had been broken into by a bear and hadn't been repaired. A mattress in the main-floor primary bedroom collapsed on one side while someone was sleeping, and the blinds in the room with the cat smell were broken with several slats missing. For what we paid, this was disgraceful and unacceptable. I feel robbed. The house shouldn't have been rented like this. It needs to be taken out of rotation, deep cleaned, and have the damage and worn-out items fixed before it goes back on the market.
