We spotted a group of baby deer within just a few hours of arriving, which was such a lovely surprise. The house kept our girls' weekend busy the whole time, with games, a hot tub, and all its quirky décor. The rooms were roomy, and the plush towels were a standout little touch. The host was quick to reply and so accommodating, and the welcome guide helped us plan, even though the house already had pretty much everything we needed. A great break from the DMV bustle. We'd happily recommend it.
Jennie has thought through all the little comforts at Camp Kindred. We found small care packages and the house rules in our bedroom, plus phone and iPhone chargers and a noise machine by the beds. I slept incredibly well. In the bathroom there was a towel warmer, wonderfully soft, absorbent towels, and slippers. Our long weekend with the girls was a chance to get away from the DMV, share food and drinks, laugh, tell stories, and spend time on games, crafts, and puzzles. It felt like a treat, and I can imagine making this an annual getaway.
We had nine of us for a ladies' weekend, and the roomy house worked well for the group. The hosts made a real effort to make the stay feel special, and the amenities were top notch. It's a peaceful spot by a large golf course, with plenty of paved path for walking. Oakland, Deep Creek Lake, and Wisp are also nearby, with skiing in winter and summer activities at the resort. We loved the location and would book again.
That egg chair is just right for curling up with a book, and the whole place has a cozy feel that makes it easy to settle in and reconnect. Camp Kindred was a lovely setting for a restful weekend. The details throughout the beautiful house feel carefully chosen and a little upscale, almost like being spoiled at a resort. It deserves its five stars, and we're already looking forward to returning.
The patio hammock swings were a favorite for lazy summer afternoons, and we spent one evening at Wildom Farm for the Wurst Night Ever, which was SO fun. Inside, Jennie's choices feel deliberate without being overdone. The artwork is charming and eclectic, with playful touches like domino collections, disc golf wall art, and a vintage Coca-cola cooler. It made for an easygoing summer stay, and now we're excited to come back in the fall.
