The rooms are dated, but that’s part of the place’s charm. It’s cozy and close to both the lake and downtown Oakland. We were greeted warmly at the front desk, with the lobby fireplaces glowing against the cold weather. We’ll be back. Thanks for a great stay and such a warm welcome!

We were very happy with our weekend in room 126. The room was spotless, which matters a lot to me, and everything looked updated. The master bed was comfortable, and my kids said they slept well on the pullout couch. Being on the main floor made it easy to get to, and the staff at Silver Tree were friendly and accommodating. The scenery is beautiful, with the lake just steps away. I’d recommend the room for up to four people, and we’d gladly return.

For $260 a night, this was a disgusting experience. While we were asleep in Unit A207 on 1/3/26, sewage burst out of the kitchenette sink and overflowed in the middle of the night. It sprayed so forcefully that it reached the microwave two feet above the sink. I had no idea sewer pipes could do that. Could someone have pressurized the building’s sewer line with a HydroJet? In the morning, I unknowingly stepped in fresh brown sewage on the floor. Chunks had come out of the sink and contaminated our clothes bags, which were on the floor. The front desk said maintenance would come at some point and that there was nothing they could do about the sewage. She said the manager couldn’t be called then and would contact me later when convenient. That never happened.

I booked A-126 after reading the good reviews. The room was renovated and looked nice, but the bed was hard and uncomfortable. My neighbor watched TV until 4am, and the paper thin walls meant I couldn’t sleep. The unit is also right by the side exit, where people began slamming the door from 7am. It was a rough stay. Paying so much and not being able to sleep was no fun.

Room 126 looked fully updated, with new carpet and a clean, fresh bathroom and kitchen. I slept wonderfully in the comfortable bed, and the Keurig was a nice perk for morning coffee. There’s also a desk and swivel chair where I could catch up on work while watching the large flat screen with Roku. The front desk staff were professional and accommodating, and housekeeping did a top notch job. I’m definitely asking for room 126 next time I’m in the Deep Creek area, hopefully for a weeklong vacation.
